A great hotel just across the road from the train station.
A great hotel just across the road from the train station. Close to other attractions eg the fish market. The room was a great size and big compared to other Japanese rooms we have stayed.
The breakfast was wonderful - a mix of Japanese and Western food.
The staff were friendly.
We wished we could have stayed longer but we only stayed for a night as a stop over.

Planned for 1 night stay; however while we arrived at Hakodate in the morning, there was unfortunately a slight snow storm that impeded our evening and night touring! And the storm continued till next morning and in the afternoon we left Hakodate for Sapporo, so didn't have the chance to see what we have planned.

We stayed overnight at Hakodate travelling from and back to Sapporo. We got to enjoy the morning seafood market that we were looking forward to and got to visit other places of interest on our drive from and back to Sapporo.
The visits to Mt Hakodate Observatory and Goryokaku Tower were enjoyable and it was also a good thing that the weather was cooperated and we had clear views of the city and sea.

Hakodate is a lovely place to explore if you enjoy Hokkaido seafood. It is a costal city and beautiful in autumn. I explored the city taking the trams and walking. The Red Brick Warehouse is a great place to shop and eat. The streets are super clean and easy to walk. The parks are beautiful with autumn coloured trees and flowers.

I heard so much about the sweet melon.
I heard so much about the sweet melon. Bought a slice at Y400 to try it out. Rather disappointed. Not sweet.
Have to beware about the price difference between sellers for crabs.
Knowing Y per Kg helps.
Property was exceptional, clean space, lots of amenities inside the room and facilities are super well maintained. The room was spacious and beautifully designed. The hotel is also located close to major areas ( 5 min walk from JR Hakodate station, right across Hakodate morning market ekini, 3 min walk from the nearby tram station or 7 min away from the Hakodate ekimae tram stop) and there are multiple konbinis nearby. We loved our stay here and would definitely recommend this place to anyone visitinf Hakodate!!!
For a semi-budget hotel with the standard modular bathroom you expect of a Japanese hotel, Four Points Sheraton Hakodate exceeded my expectations in terms of it being tastefully furnished & that the staff made sure my requests were met even though they had apologized in advance in case they couldn't. The hotel building itself is old but the rooms had been newly-renovated. I will definitely choose this hotel again if I ever return to Hakodate.
The hotel was very clean. All the staffs were very polite. They keep changing the toothbrushes everyday as well as the towels. They have free cotton buds, combs, etc. toilets as well as the bathrooms were clean. The location is perfect as it’s near to some of the tourist spots in Hakodate. the capsules were very spacious, it has a locker too. The bed were very comfy. They also have a good space for chilling. Kitchen was also cool!
Excellent location, walking distance to all places and the tram station is not too far. The staff were wonderful, they took time to plan our tour in Hakodate and the nearby places during our three-night stay. I chose this property for its architecture, it is an old bank brilliantly converted into a boutique hotel. The old building does not have a lift but it has a beautiful wide staircase. Highly recommend this hotel.
Good location with a nice rooftop outdoor and indoor public bath. Also a nice lounge area can enjoy the harbour view and Mount Hakodate in the background. Free coffee and tea plus outdoor (pay) parking available. Short walk to most places and great staff services. Plus in room washing machine with built in dryer is perfect for us so that we can do some laundry (detergent provided) after over a week of traveling!
The hotel is in the same plaza as JR Hakodate station, which is also walking distance from a streetcar stop. This is easily the best location for exploring the city and taking day trips.
The room was very comfortable with a modern design. Access to a public bath is included. The bath is basic with showers, a sauna, a hot water bath, and a cold water bath. While basic, it is quite spacious and well maintained.
Breakfast was amazing. I love salmon roe and champagne (stayed during the new year). Also the onsen was great, big territory and some semi private space there too. The view was also beautiful. We had a city view with some seaside views as well. I am sure the mountain view is great too. The hotel is close to the sea and major restaurants and shopping river side. I recommend this hotel.
We loved our very clean spacious room, the warm welcome and care of our hosts. They embodied the spirit of a ryokan or good niche hotel. Not in terms of luxury but by their hospitality. The location is perfect, and, as we noted, staying here in this lovely decorated place was a worthwhile attraction of Hakodate in itself.
Totally no complaints for this hotel! Really really good! Excellent location, just 5-7 min to JR station, 3-5 min to the morning market with lots of great food. Stylish room with even a microwave!
Thank you FAV Hakodate team!
I will surely choose this hotel again if I come to Hakodate again. Very close to Hakodate Station. Near Asaichi Market, tram stop is directly in front of hotel. I didnt expect breakfast was included with all booking.
Only a few min walk from JR Hakodate station. Min to morning markets & Bay Area & water. The best part of the hotel was Hot spring on the top floor with ocean views!!! Staff was very helpful.
This was my second time staying at this hotel. Excellent location, great onsen, and a courteous staff. Everything you need for a good base of operations for your Hakodate visit.
Lovely hotel in Hakodate. Comfy beds, good onsen and fabulous breakfast, with grill master, all kinds of fish, and seafood. Great experience. I would love to stay there longer.
Great location, it's near the Hakodate Station. Convenient store is just next door, bus station is just in front of the hotel, tram/streetcar is walking distance as well,
Overall, the service is good, location is great, it’s near the market, the pier and the mountain top! I will recommend this hotel for a short stay in Hakodate
