Finding Cheap Fights

Finding Cheap Fights

Once I decide to go on holiday, I will use a flight search engine to find the best route and the cheapest flights. There are many flight search engines available, but I typically use the ones listed below, as they provide a wide range of airlines and offer plenty of options for flight deals!

Google Flights | Whenever I start searching for flights, Google Flights is always my first step. It’s the most user-friendly airfare search site I’ve come across. The platform provides a wealth of information, allowing me to find the best options based on the cheapest, fastest, or overall best flights. Additionally, it enables me to compare flight prices across various airlines, ensuring that I secure the best deal.

Trip.com | A great way to find affordable flights is by checking websites like Trip.com for promotional deals. This method is especially effective if you are flexible with your travel dates and destinations, allowing you to take advantage of great offers as soon as they become available. Trip.com is particularly popular for deals related to travel in China!

Skyscanner | Skyscanner is awesome for finding the cheapest tickets when you are not sure exactly where you want to go. We have come across some unbelievable flight bargains to Tokyo and other places using Skyscanner.

Expedia.com | Expedia offers flights at extremely affordable rates. It is one of our favorite flight booking sites and we have found that it consistently finds the best rates when comparing prices.

Hotels – Finding Where to Stay

Hotels - Finding Where to Stay

We use Booking.com for most of our hotels and accommodations when traveling. It is awesome and reliable for travel in Europe and the US and pretty good in Asia as well. While Agoda is great when looking for hotel bookings in Asia. If you prefer to check several websites, Expedia.com is another great option for accommodation deals!

Booking.com | Booking usually offers the cheapest hotel deals. But what we like about Booking.com is the Flexible Cancellation Policy. You can reserve your hotel room through Booking.com but pay at the hotel when you check in or out. So if you end up changing your mind, you don’t have to wait for a refund.

Agoda.com | Agoda specializes in hotels in Asia and therefore can provide (at times) better deals. Agoda has more hotels and hostels in Asia than any other booking site and is usually among the best rates as well. In addition to their great prices, they occasionally offer extra deals, so be sure to check their deals page before booking!

Airbnb | Airbnb is a great site for longer rentals. It is a trusted community marketplace for people to book unique accommodations around the world. This site connects you with homeowners who want to rent out their apartment/ home/ rooms. If we plan to stay in a city for more than a week, we will check AirBnB.com to see what is available and what the rates are.

Hostelworld | I don’t stay at hostels anymore, but when I did, Hostelworld was my preferred platform for booking accommodations around the world. It offers the largest selection of budget-friendly options, along with a user-friendly interface, detailed reviews, and real-time availability. Additionally, it’s easy to find hostels that offer free cancellation and exclusive deals.

Transportation – Getting Around

Transportation - Getting Around

When traveling to new places or areas, your options for getting around typically include public transportation, taxis, or private transfers. Taxis can be costly, and public transportation may not always be convenient. There are a few popular resources available that can help you navigate your transportation options.

RentalsCar.com | We used Rentals from Booking.com for most of our car rental services when planning for road trips. Not only do they provide a great price, but also with good customer reviews and a reputation.

Welcome Pickups | Welcome Pickups is my preferred choice for stress-free airport transfers and personalized sightseeing rides. Their professional, local drivers are consistently on time and ensure a seamless journey from the moment you arrive.

Trip Planning – Tours, Tickets, and Deals

Trip Planning - Tours Tickets

Many places can be visited on your own with a DIY itinerary and planning. But some places are best to visit by booking a tour due to transport arrangements. If you are visiting popular places, especially in Europe, a skip-the-line ticket is a must.

Klook is the leading travel site that provides many day tours and organized activities. They have excellent customer support and the best cancellation policy. They even have a discount price if you are applying the coupon code. Very handy especially for tours in Asia.

Viator, a Tripadvisor company, is the world’s leading resource for finding, and booking the best travel experiences and tours worldwide. They are reliable and offer user reviews with pictures. Best recommended for tours in Europe and USA.

Travel Blogging

If you are thinking about starting a travel blog of your own, go with the below travel blogging recommendation. We use a lot of tools to help grow our blog, and reach a wider audience, here are some of our favorites.

Hostinger – We used Hostinger for our web hosting because it is extremely easy to set up your first website with their one-click automatic WordPress installation. They have good support when you need some help, and prices are very competitive.
